Rev. Joe Palermo

Fri, Feb 16 2018 - Sun, Feb 18 2018

Preached Silent Retreat
Actual Cost: $350.00
Minimum Offering: $225.00
When Jesus asked the blind man what he could do for him, the man replied, “Lord, I want to see!” The Season of Lent is one of the most grace-filled times for improving our spiritual vision. In Lent, we confront sin, seek to refocus our lives spiritually and celebrate God’s mercy and love. This retreat will consider traditional Lenten themes of temptation, weakness, sin and suffering, but will focus on gaining a sharper focus in daily living.

Rev. Joe Palermo practiced law for twelve years before hearing God’s call to the priesthood. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 1994, serving in several parishes and archdiocesan administrative positions. He regularly gives retreats, missions and days of prayer on fostering the spiritual life and is currently on staff at Notre Dame Seminary.

To register, please contact a Retreat Captain or you may call the Retreat/Hospitality Coordinator, Susan Halligan at (504) 267-9604 or 1-866-937-9170.

Preached Silent Retreat
Actual Cost: $350.00
Minimum Offering: $225.00
Conversion is a personal experience that leads us to community. The movement of transformation beckons us to believe and accept our identity as the beloved of God. For most of us, conversion is not one, brief, blinding moment that changes our life forever, but rather a slow, maturing process that takes place over time as we learn a new language of the soul. This retreat reflects on how the life of faith is a sojourn of the soul. During this retreat, this rest stop for the soul, we will explore stories of our faith and seek to see how they connect and reconnect us to the stories of our lives.

Preached Silent Retreat
Actual Cost: $350.00
Minimum Offering: $225.00
Taking the Emmaus Scripture as our guide, we will consider God’s merciful call to us to return to him, take up our cross and continue our journey of discipleship. We will reflect on the gift of Lent, the gift of God’s loving desire to be with us even when we lose our way and the gift of God’s grace in the sacraments that helps us to return to him and be witnesses for him! If you are looking for encouragement and strength during Lent, this retreat is for you.

Rev. Joe Krafft served for five years as a Parochial Vicar at St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie. In 2007, he became the Director of Human Formation at Notre Dame Seminary. He is currently working on a Doctorate in Ministry Degree with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. Fr. Joe enjoys leading mission trips, giving Lenten Missions, parish presentations on evangelization and discipleship and preaching and teaching at retreats.

The seven signs of the Divine that we call sacraments offer us a sense of belonging, confirm our commitments, forgive our failures, nourish our souls, give us strength for the journey, and bring us healing and hope. As graced moments, the sacraments mark the times of our lives as they awaken and affirm God’s presence within us and among us. As signs and symbols, the sacraments stimulate the senses with bread, wine, oil and water. They express our identity as a people of faith and our mission as a Church to reflect the reality of Christ’s presence in the world.

Rev. Joe Nassal is the author of eight books including The Conspiracy of Compassion, Rest Stops for the Soul, and Stations of the Crib. A Missionary of the Precious Blood, he has been engaged in retreat, renewal and reconciliation ministry since 1988. Ordained in 1982, Fr. Joe is presently the Provincial Director of the Kansas City Province and lives in Liberty, MO.
