Evening of Reflection
Actual Cost: $20.00
Minimum Offering: $20.00
6pm - 8pm

We’re great at doing things for Christ, but we sometimes struggle with slowing down long enough to listen so we can follow the voice of God. Silence in our prayer is the difference between "saying prayers” and “talking with God" who has so much to say to us! Through story-telling, scripture, and humor, we’ll break open the power, art, and challenge of sitting still.

Lorraine Hess is a singer, composer, retreat facilitator, and recording artist with World Library Publications. She has served in music ministry for thirty years, and is Director of Music Ministry at Divine Mercy Parish in Kenner, LA. She has released several CDs of original liturgical and inspirational music. She has been married to her husband Rob since 1990, and they are proud parents of four sons, their greatest vocation.

Rev. Joe Nassal, CPPS

Fri, Jan 11 2019 - Sun, Jan 13 2019

Preached Silent Retreat
Actual Cost: $350.00
Minimum Offering: $250.00
Conversion is a personal experience that leads us to community. The movement of transformation beckons us to believe and accept our identity as the beloved of God. For most of us, conversion is not one brief, blinding moment that changes our life forever, but rather a slow, maturing process that takes place over time as we learn a new language found in the whisper and wisdom of our God – the language of the soul. This retreat reflects how the life of faith is a sojourn of the soul. During this retreat, this rest stop for our soul, we will explore stories of our faith and seek to see how they connect and re-connect us to the stories of our lives.

Fr. Joe Nassal, CPPS, is Provincial Director of the Kansas City Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Author of several books including The Conspiracy of Compassion, Rest Stops for the Soul, Premeditated Mercy, Moments of Truth and Stations of the Crib, he has been engaged in retreat, renewal and reconciliation ministry since 1988. Ordained in 1982, Fr. Joe has also served in parish ministry, justice and peace ministry and in formation, vocation and leadership for his congregation. He lives in Liberty, Missouri.

Rev. Doug Doussan

Wed, Jan 23 2019 - Wed, Jan 23 2019

Day of Reflection
Actual Cost: $35.00
Minimum Offering: $35.00
The Day of Prayer will take its inspiration from a film of remarkable stories illustrating the impact of Pope Francis' first five years as Pope. In Pope Francis, we have a courageous and prophetic leader who is concerned about the environment, about world peace, mercy, compassion and love. We have a Gospel-inspired shepherd who has a deep passion, care and concern for the poor and for millions of displaced peoples roaming the face of this earth. We have a leader who has had a deep and lasting impact on humanity at this moment in history. The stories in this documentary will include ordinary Catholics who are working on the margins, women religious and bishops, and countless others who see Pope Francis as a beacon of hope for all humanity. This is not a film about Pope Francis changing the church; it's a film about the church changing the world.

Msgr. Doug Doussan is a retired priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He is currently serving as Resident Chaplain of the Archdiocesan Retreat Center. He was formerly the pastor of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish in New Orleans and St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Marrero.

Rev. Sidney Speaks

Fri, Jan 25 2019 - Sun, Jan 27 2019

Preached Silent Retreat
Actual Cost: $350.00
Minimum Offering: $250.00
As we the Church come from the feast of the Lord’s Baptism in the River Jordan, we will reflect on the powerful implications that flow from it: its effect on our FOLLOWSHIP, DISCIPLESHIP and FELLOWSHIP. Jesus provides the drive and energy for us to pursue righteousness, the right way of living.

Rev. Sidney Speaks is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. At a young age, he felt the calling of the Lord and began priestly formation with the Josephite Fathers and Brothers. After completing his studies, he was ordained a Josephite priest in 1999. He has served as parochial vicar in Beaumont, Texas and Washington, D.C. In 2016, Rev. Speaks was invited to minister as a parish priest at St. Matthew the Apostle Church in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
